I need a digital camera but I don’t know exactly what to look for. I guess the camera is mainly going to be used for outside use to take pictures of friends and family and other such events. I’m not going to be photographing action shots on an NFL sideline. Also, if I can be advised on what to look for, that would be very helpful. Thanks to everybody that helps me out with this.
im looking to buy a video camera but i know nothing about camcorders and dont really know what to get. i want it to have a very good picture, lots of memory and is good in low light environments. its main use is going to be for youtube videos. i dont really care how big or small it is but picture quality is of my upmost concern, and how well it performs in low lit surroundings.

Also, I know a basic camera package usually starts you out with a 18-55mm lens, and this kit comes with a 28-70mm lens and a 70-300mm lens.
I want to have a good basic lens, and also have one that has a good zoom. (I do a lot of action shots at rodeos. Which means I am often times far form the action.)
Any suggestions of the best lenses, and whether or not Sigma lenses are as good at Canon.
I have read about two compositional techniques in photography and even though the golden mean rule sounds more complicated they both seem to have the points of interest placed in the same place. What is the actual difference?

I am looking for a camera that takes professional looking pictures. I have seen pictures taken from the Cannon Rebel and I really like the way they look, is there another good digital similar to that one? I am wanting to buy a new camera and am going to school for photography. I just would like to know my options. I’m looking for something no higher than 800.00 maybe, or somewhere close to that.
I need to shoot some pictures in low light conditions at a disco. What is the best lens to buy for this type of photography?
