I’m a photographer and have learned a lot about light and composition. I want to buy a professional video camera but I’m stumped on which one to purchase.

What I want is great quality, a universal format that will be easy when editing.
as far as price range I would like to go no higher than 2grand but if its worth it I’ll go over it.
I don’t really know much about these video cameras since I’ve never owned one or have had a chance to experiment with one so when upon reading reviews I am not sure what the shooting modes are like 24p and 30p

I don’t have alot of money, so the expensive lights specifically for photography are not in the budget. I want to take professional-looking photos of my daugther at home, but need some kind of cheap lighting that would work. Any suggestions?

I have an associates degree in communication art. The program had a photography class, which I took. I took 2 years of photoshop in high school and a year in college. I have a photography portfolio.
I want to apply at a photography company near me. They do senior photos, weddings, family portraits, etc.
Should I call first, e-mail, go in with my resume and portfolio, should I just include photos of people in my portfolio since that is what they focus on?

i already have one that is 28-105mm but want one that goes up to 300mm or more. which brands would be the best for my camera?

The first link listed below is to a web page that lists the 3 DSLR cameras you mentioned. This list will let you compare features and specs, also it has links to reviews of the cameras, the reviews include sample images from the cameras.
A quick thought, if video is important to you then it is down to the D5000 and D90, and read over the details regarding video. I do not really know video but I like how the D5000 provides a movable LCD for viewing and that seems like a really good thing if one is doing video. Check what cameras allows faster fps (frames per second), better high ISO performance which can help in low light, and other differences like that.

Sometimes you have to click in the “add to cart” button to see the actual price.

I’m saving up for a DSLR and I’m looking at maybe a Nikon,Canon, or Pentax. I will be saving up and my budget is $575. Also how come mp don’t “really” matter when buying a camera. I always thought the higher the mp the sharper the picture…
